Processing Materials: Froth floatation machine is mainly used for the separation of non-ferrous metals such as copper, zinc, lead, nickel, gold, etc., and can also be used for the rough separation, selection and reverse flotation operations of ferrous metals and non-metals.
Working Principle of Froth Floatation Machine
When the main shaft is driven by the motor to drive the impeller to rotate, the pulp in the impeller cavity is thrown out around by centrifugal force, causing negative pressure in the impeller cavity, and air is sucked in through the suction pipe. At the same time, the pulp under the impeller is sucked in through the center hole of the lower cone of the impeller, mixed with air in the impeller cavity, and then thrown out through the passage between the cover blades. The air and a part of the pulp move to the upper part of the flotation tank. The foam enters the next tank for sorting through overflow, and another part of the slurry moves to the bottom of the flotation tank and is sucked by the impeller to enter the impeller cavity again, forming a downward circulation of the slurry. The existence of the circulation under the slurry of the froth floatation machine is beneficial to the suspension of coarse-particle minerals and can minimize the deposition of coarse sand on the bottom of the tank.
Basic Operation of Froth Floatation Machine
1.Adjustment of pulp and the addition of flotation reagents. The purpose is to cause the difference of mineral surface properties, that is to change the wettability of mineral surface and adjust the selectivity of the mineral surface so that some mineral particles can adhere to gas saturation, while others can not adhere to bubbles.
2.Stir and cause a lot of bubbles. With the help of aeration and agitation of the flotation machine, the air in the pulp is dispersed and a large number of bubbles are formed, or the air dissolved in the pulp is precipitated.
3.Mineralization of bubbles. The selective attachment of mineral particles to bubbles is the basic behavior in the flotation process.
