What is the Difference Between Roller Crusher and Toothed Roller Crusher?

Toothed roll crusher is a new type of equipment developed on the basis of roller crusher. Both of them use the roller to crush materials by squeezing each other, which are common crushing equipment in the mining industry. But what is the difference between them?

1. Different application field and characteristics

Roll crusher is widely used in metallurgy, building materials, refractory materials, and other industries to crush medium and high hardness materials. It has the characteristics of low noise, less dust, reliable performance, and convenient maintenance.

Toothed roller stone crusher is suitable for crushing soft and low hardness brittle materials with flaky joints in coal, metallurgy, mining, and chemical industries, such as coal, dry clay, shale, etc. It has the characteristics of small volume, large crushing ratio, low noise, the uniform particle size of crushed materials, and sensitive overload protection.

2. Different structures

The double roller crusher is usually composed of body, base, fixed roller, movable roller, transmission device, and safety device.

The toothed roll crusher is composed of an active toothed roller, reducer, hydraulic coupling, motor, electric oil supply pump, passive toothed roller, arched toothed plate, side toothed plate, side toothed plate seat, lower body, and speed detector.

In addition to the different selection of the main parts, the main internal structure difference between the double roller rock crusher and the toothed roller crusher is the roller body they are equipped with. The two roller surfaces of the double roll crusher are smooth and produce fewer particles and powder materials. The surfaces of the two rollers of the double tooth roll crusher are both serrated, which produces more particles and powder materials.

3. Different working principles

The double-geared roller crusher adopts the working principle of squeezing by rollers with low speed and high pressure. The material falls vertically into the crushing cavity from the upper part of the crusher and then it's crushed by the strong pressure generated by the mutual extrusion and friction between the two rollers.

In the production of tooth roll crusher, the material will collide with the high-speed rotating toothed roller after entering the V-shaped crushing cavity of two rollers. Because the surface of the roller is full of tooth-shaped broken bodies, the material is split by rotary extrusion when the machine is working, so as to achieve the purpose of crushing.

4. The particle size of crushed materials is different

The roller crusher uses extrusion friction to crush the material, so the crushed materials have a finer particle size. The double teeth roller crusher uses the double-toothed rollers to split and tear the materials, so the processed materials are mostly granular with relatively coarse particle size.

How to choose two kinds of roller crusher

How to choose the above two types of roller crushers? It is still necessary to select according to the actual production needs of customers. For example, it is recommended to use the roller crusher for crushing hard and abrasive materials, such as clinker and limestone, while the reliable toothed roll crusher is recommended for brittle materials with low strength or strong viscosity and moisture, such as coal, clay, shale, etc.

The above is a simple explanation of the difference between the roller crusher and the double-toothed roller crusher. In addition to crushing equipment, Nile Machinery also provides various types of sand making equipment, grinding equipment, and mineral processing equipment, and reasonably designs various production lines to meet the different needs of customers. At the same time, Nile Machinery also has perfect after-sales service to provide comprehensive safety production guarantee for customers.
