Difference between Jaw Crusher and Hammer Crusher

There are many types of industrial crushing equipment, including primary crushing equipment jaw crusher, secondary crushing equipment rock hammer crusher, cone crusher, and fine crushing equipment. Jaw crusher plant and stone crushing hammer crusher, as the key equipment of industrial primary and secondary crushing, are used to crush materials. So what is the difference between them?

Hammer Crusher Supplier

1. Different crushing materials

Primary jaw crusher can crush various soft and hard materials with a compressive strength between 300-350mpa, such as granite, quartz, diabase, river pebble, iron ore, etc. Stone hammer crushers are mainly used to crush ores with low hardness and compressive strength less than 200MPa, such as limestone, bluestone, coal gangue, etc. When the hammer mill grinder crushes hard materials, the hammerhead is severely worn, and the cost of replacing a set of hammerheads is too high. If an ordinary high manganese steel hammerhead is used, it may need to be replaced in two or three days, which not only delays production but also increases input costs.

2. Different working principles

The working model of jaw crusher for rock is a curved extrusion type, and the material is crushed in the crushing cavity composed of a moving jaw and fixed jaw. The industry hammer mill is mainly crushed by the impact, shearing, tearing of the rotating hammerhead, the mutual impact between the materials, and the impact of the lining plate.

3. Different discharge adjustment methods

There are three main ways to adjust the discharge of the jaw crusher machine, which are plate adjustment, wedge adjustment, and hydraulic cylinder adjustment. The adjustment of the particle size of the stone hammer mill crusher is realized by changing the bottom sieve plate.

4. The configuration of the production line is different

The content of needles in the discharge of the jaw crushing machine is relatively high, and it needs to cooperate with the impact crusher for shaping, so the common configuration is stone jaw crusher and impact crusher. Hammer crusher machine is mainly used for industrial secondary crushing, forming at one time, without secondary crushing and shaping process, so it is often used in small and medium-sized production lines with a single hammer.

5. Different application in the aggregate production line

Jaw crushing plants are often used as coarse crushing equipment in aggregate production lines, equipped with impact crushers or cone crushers, plus sand making machines for shaping. Hammer crushers are rarely used in aggregate production lines. Although the process of heavy-duty hammer crusher is simple, the yield is low, easy to be over-crushed, too many powdery materials, the finished aggregate may have microcracks, low compressive strength, which affects the quality and price of aggregate, so it is often used as an auxiliary sand making equipment.

In addition to the above differences, jaw crusher and energy-saving hammer crusher also have differences in equipment performance, configuration, price, etc. Users can consult customer online service for free for more details, or choose suitable equipment according to their own needs.
